Telcel (acronym for "telefonía celular") is the predominant telecommunications company in Mexico, ahead of Movistar and AT&T Mexico. It is owned by América Móvil, a Mexican multinational telecom conglomerate.
América Móvil’s home market is the only one in Latin America where the Claro brand is not used; rather, it uses the Telcel and Telmex (for fixed-line) brands.
1989–1994[]
1994–2022[]
Telcel has used the same symbol since its inception.
Despite the 2022 rebrand, this logo is still used on some phones, including some customer attention centers and authorized dealers.
2022–present[]
During the World Cup Qatar 2022, Telcel change its logo, dropping the "star tac cell phone" symbol and smoothing the edges of its typography.
