Teledoce (formerly stylized as Tele 12, Canal 12 or Teledoce Televisora Color), also known as La tele, is an Uruguayan television network owned by the local Grupo Disco Uruguay. Founded in 1962, it was the last privately-owned network to be launched. Its programming is generalist, based mostly on entertainment, magazines, soap operas and newscasts. The channel is partly affiliated to Argentina's eltrece, broadcasting some of its programs.

Tele 12 (first era)[]

During its first months on-air, Teledoce (stylized as Tele 12) changed its logos often. Its first logo, used during its experimental broadcasts, consisted only of its name in a simple, likely handwritten, typeface.

Upon the channel's launch in 2 May 1962, a new logo was presented, which included a crescent moon and a 13-ray sun, reflecting its slogan "De 12 a 12 sintonice Tele 12".

Later in May, a new logo was revealed, consisting on the wordmark Teledoce above 2, overlapping rings. This base design had many variants used in varying times.

Canal 12 (first era)[]

Sometime around 1963, the channel became identified as Canal 12 and changed its logo to a numeral 12 inside a circle, itself inside a television screen.

In October 1963, the channel returned to its Tele 12 denomination and introduced a new logo, consisting on the Tele 12 and Montevideo wordmarks inside a rounded rectangle. Atop it was an illustration of a worker using a studio camera, which completed a complex and dynamic logo, as it could appear in other positions.

By 1965, on the channel's 3rd anniversary, the logo was simplified by removing the worker illustration.

In 1967, the logo was replaced by a filled circle containing the Tele and 12 wordmarks of varying heights.

In December 1971, Tele 12 returned to the Canal 12 denomination and changed its logo to a serif 12 numeral placed inside a television screen.

In 17 April 1974, Teledoce introduced a stylized 12 numeral as its logo, which was accompanied by its name below or to the left (the typeface in which it was written varied depending on the year). Initially, it was double-lined, separated by a thin, white line; in 1977, it was simplified. In October 1980, it returned to its double-lined form.

This logo would be later used by Canal 12 in El Salvador between 1984 and 1989.

Teledoce Televisora Color[]

Upon arrival of color television, on 5 May 1981, Teledoce became Teledoce Televisora Color and introduced one of its most iconic logos, consisting on a customized 12, initially made of multiple, rainbow-colored dots. It also included a "ghost"-like effect to the right.

On 2 May 1983, to celebrate Teledoce's 21st anniversary, the number 12 was solidified into a yellow numeral with a black border.

By 1989, the logo gained gold-like gradients.

In 1995, Teledoce Televisora Colored was renamed as simply Teledoce, and gained a new logo inspired by that of 20th Century Fox, with the 12 numeral placed above a 3D structure and various lights shining into it.

In 2004, Teledoce changed its logo alongside editorial changes, and began being referred to as La tele. A new logo was created, which abandoned the 12 wordmarks used since 1971. The new logo consisted on a "plate" with the text tele inside (with the last "e" attached to the right of the "plate"), with the Teledoce wordmark placed below.

In 2012, for the channel's 50th anniversary, the logo was accompanied by a giant number 5 to the left. Both were colored bold.

In 2019, the logo was modernized. The "tele" wordmark (now white, in the Hurme Geometric Sans 4 Bold typeface, and with the "t" lacking the top "stem") was placed above a circle with a blue gradient.

In May 2022, for the channel's 60th anniversary, a giant number "6" was added to the left of the logo. The color changed from blue to purple.
