Telefónica is a Spanish multinational telecommunications company operating using three main consumer brands: Movistar in Spain and Spanish America, O2 in certain European countries (most notably Germany and the United Kingdom) and Vivo in Brazil.
This is in contrast to other European telecom multinationals such as Vodafone, Orange S.A., Deutsche Telekom and Telenor, which operate almost entirely using a single consumer brand, sometimes with minor naming variations in different countries.
