Telekom Romania, operating till 2014 as Romtelecom and Cosmote, is a Romanian telecommunications company. While it uses the Telekom brand, it's not owned directly by Deutsche Telekom but rather by OTE, its Greek subsidiary.
In September 2014, the Romtelecom and Cosmote brands were replaced by the Telekom brand.
On November 9, 2020, it was officially confirmed that Orange signed the acquisition agreement for 54% of Telekom Romania Communications (formerly Romtelecom) for 268 million euros. OTE says it will retain ownership of the former Cosmote.
