Mobtel was launched as the first Serbian cellular mobile network operator on December 31, 1994.
2000–2006[]
Government interference over accumulated unpaid debts from Mobtel's side prompted a name change to Mobi 63 on December 29, 2005, and the name would be then used until August 1, 2006. However, consumer business was still conducted under the Mobtel brand.
Telenor[]
2006–2022[]
Telenor sold its Serbian operations to PPF Group in 2018 along with its Bulgarian, Montenegro and Hungarian operations; however, the Telenor brand remained until 2022. Later, PPF Group sold the Montenegro operations to Hungarian 4iG.
Yettel[]
2022–present[]
On 27 January 2022, PPF Group announced that they would be changing the names of their Telenor subsidiaries in Bulgaria, Hungary and Serbia to Yettel on 1 March 2022.
