1955-1973[]
Telesistema Mexicano was formed on March 26, 1955 by Emilio Azcárraga Vidaurreta as a merger between Canal 2 with rival channels Canal 4 and Canal 5. On November 28, 1972, the company agreed to a merger with Televisión Independiente de México, the owners of Canal 8, which was completed on January 8th of the following year, leading to the creation of Televisa.
