Televisión del Norte was formed in 1963 by the Garza Sada family, the owners of Grupo Monterrey to oversee the launch of XET-TV two years later.
Televisión Independiente de México[]
1970–1973[]
In 1970, Televisión Independiente de México was formed as a merger between 11 of the 15 Telecadena Mexicana stations and Canal 8 in Mexico City. On November 28, 1972, the company agreed to a merger with Telesistema Mexicano, which was completed on January 8th of the following year, leading to the creation of Televisa.
