Telkomsel is the largest mobile network operator in Indonesia, with over 150 million subscribers. It is jointly owned by the state-owned Telkom Indonesia (65%) and the Singaporean multinational Singtel (35%). Its competitors are XL Axiata, Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison and Smartfren.
Telkomsel offers the Telkomsel Halo brand for postpaid services, Telkomsel PraBayar for prepaid services, Telkomsel Orbit for broadband internet and By.U, a mobile virtual network operator.

During the 2021 Telkomsel Awards on June 18, 2021, Telkomsel introduced a new logo for the first time in 26 years. The logo is set in a custom font called Telkomsel Batik. The rebranding also sees prepaid services such as SimPATI, Kartu As and LOOP being folded under the Telkomsel PraBayar brand.
