Thames Television was the weekday ITV franchisee for the Greater London area and was formed from the joint venture of British Electric Traction (BET) and ABPC (later Thorn EMI) which replaced Rediffusion.
The arguably most famous Thames logo was created with the switch to colour in 1969 by Minale Tattersfield. It remained in use for twenty years with only minor changes.
