On July 31, 2020, Foxtel announced that The Comedy Channel and Fox Hits would cease broadcasting on September 1 and merge to become Fox Comedy. The Comedy Channel's programming was dispersed across sister channels FOX8 and Fox Showcase, as well as ViacomCBS' upcoming channel 10 Shake.
