In 1992, comedy troupe The D-Generation returned to the ABC with their new sketch comedy and satire program The Late Show, which aired from 18 July 1992 to 30 October 1993. An earlier attempt was piloted five times on the Nine Network in 1990 under the name The Late Late Show.

1993ā1994[]
In 1993 and 1994, three "best-of" compilations were released on VHS under the title The Best Bits of The Late Show. In 2001, a "Champagne Edition" DVD was released which included all three compilations plus an extra hour of footage titled Some More Bits of The Late Show.
