Established on 17 April 2008 and published from Abu Dhabi, The National is an English-language daily newspaper in the UAE. It was originally launched by Abu Dhabi Media Network, and acquired by International Media Investments in 2016. Its main English-language competitors are Gulf News and Khaleej Times, which are published from Dubai.
