In 2000, The Woolwich was bought by Barclays who kept the branches and the name until 2006 when the branches were changed to Barclays. The name still lived on though, as Barclays' UK Mortgage brand.

This was the first logo designed especially for The Woolwich Mortgages, supplied by Barclays. The Woolwich brand name was discontinued in 2015.
