By mid-1997, the remaining Thom McAn outlets were converted to the Footaction USA name.

Starting in 1997, Footstar began selling Thom McAn-branded shoes in Kmart stores, and later Wal-Mart in 2003. Sears Holdings would acquire the brand name along with Footstar's other intellectual properties in 2008. Records of the brand existing beyond 2018 are inconclusive.
