On 28 February 2024, it was announced Newshub would close on 30 June. The closure was confirmed by Warner Bros. Discovery New Zealand, and Newshub would air it's final 6pm bulletin on 5 July. A new bulletin program ThreeNews; produced by Stuff, will take Newshub's position from the day after.

ThreeNews is a New Zealand evening news bulletin airing on Three, replacing Newshub from 6 July 2024. The program is to be produced by online news publisher Stuff, and will take on much of Newshub's presenters and journalists.
