Introduced in 2004, Tigo is the consumer telecommunications brand of Millicom, a Luxembourg-headquartered multinational telecommunications company, that operates in Latin America. It also operated in several African countries, but it exited Africa completely in 2021, though the Tigo brand remains in use for the time being.
The name Tigo derives from the Spanish word contigo, which means with you.
