- Not to be confused with Time Out.
1972-1983[]

The first Time-Out family amusement center opened on April 12, 1972 at the Northway Mall in Colonie, New York. It was founded by Bonomo taffy heir Tico Bonomo, two years after selling the brand to Tootsie Roll Industries. Its original headquarters were in Manassas, Virginia. Its logo reflected the chain's distinctive multicolored storefronts.
1982-1988[]

Time Out Family Amusement Center, Inc. was acquired by Sega in December 1986.

During Sega's ownership, some locations opened under the "Sega's Time-Out" name, with the first to do so opening in Ohio in November 1988. Sega would sell the chain to Edison Brothers Stores in June 1990, who would sell the chain again in January 1996 to Namco Cybertainment, the American arcade operations arm of Namco, and owner of the Cyberstation arcade chain.
1997-2021[]

| BETTER LOGO NEEDED |
By the time of Namco USA's closure in 2021, only a few Time-Out locations remained in the United States and Puerto Rico. The remaining Namco arcades were sold to CTM Group, who closed or converted them to generic brands.
