On August 20, 2013, Disney announced that after 10 years, Toontown Online would shut down on September 19. This is being done to put more focus on Club Penguin and more Disney mobile apps. The game was shut down, and is no longer accessible to the public, other than fanmade servers such as Toontown Rewritten.
