This logo was used from 1988 until 1993, surviving a title sequence change in 1989.

1994–2001, 1994–present (merchandise)[]

TopGear

This logo was first introduced in 1994 alongside a new title sequence. Following declining ratings, Top Gear was cancelled in 2001.

2002–2013[]

A revamped version of Top Gear returned to BBC Two in 2002.

2013–2017[]

In 2013, the logo was given a slight modification. The gear was given a more 3D effect, the BBC's logo was implemented and the gear and text were moved slightly closer.

2017–2018[]

A title sequence revamp in 2017 saw the introduction of a three-dimensional rendering of the 1994 logo but with the addition of the BBC logo.

2018–2021[]

The logo was first seen on the Top Gear series 25 trailer released in January 2018. In February, the logo was added to the official Top Gear website. The gear in the logo no longer has the radial-blur effect.

2021–2022, 2021–present (magazine & website)[]

With the change of the BBC's logo, Top Gear logo was updated in late 2021, coinciding with the launch of series 31. The light blue color of the gear is more muted, the wordmark now has an appearance akin to that of a brushed aluminium, and the BBC logo is appeared in black.

In November 2023, the BBC announced that Top Gear would not return on TV for the "foreseeable future" after an accident on set in December 2022, though the statement left open the possibility of the show resuming production in the future. However, the Top Gear magazine and website continue, also using this logo.
