This logo was used from 1988 until 1993, surviving a title sequence change in 1989.

1994–2001, 2002–present

This logo was first introduced in 1994 alongside a new title sequence. Following declining ratings, Top Gear was cancelled in 2001.

This logo is also used for merchandising for the current format (e.g. the Top Gear Magazine) alongside the main logo of the current series.

2002–2013

A revamped version of Top Gear returned to BBC Two in 2002.

2013–2017

In 2013, the logo was given a slight modification. The gear was given a more 3D effect, the BBC's logo was implemented and the gear and text were moved slightly closer.

2017-2018

A title sequence revamp in 2017 saw the introduction of a three-dimensional rendering of the 1994 logo but with the addition of the BBC logo.

2018–present

The logo was first seen on the Top Gear series 25 trailer released in January 2018. In February, the logo was added to the official Top Gear website. The logo is now used on all social media sites.
