This logo was seen in TV adverts for Toyota in the USA during the 60s.

1978–present
The most familiar wordmark was debuted in Japan in 1978. It adds the Toyota logo on left or on above the wordmark in October 1989 (see the logo and description on bottom).
1989–present
This logo saw the premiere of the Lexus brand. Officially debuted at the 50th anniversary of Toyota in October 2, 1989 with the launch of the 1990 Toyota Celsior, which is a Japanese market rebadging of the Lexus LS 400, which was debuted in the United States in September 1989. In the U.S., the logo first began appearing on the vehicles themselves during the 1991 model year. It is now the most familiar Toyota logo all the time.
