1996–1999[]
Toys Center originally began life as the italian branch of Toys "R" Us in 1996. In 1998, Toys "R" Us Italy was aquired by Italian toy manufacturer GiG.
1999–present[]
Shortly after aquiring Toys "R" Us Italy, GiG filed for brankruptcy, and by 1999 all of its operations were aquired by Giochi Preziosi. With the acquisition, all Italian Toys "R" Us stores were rebranded as Toys Center.
