Trancas y Barrancas are anthropomorphic ant characters from the Spanish chat show El Hormiguero. Their name comes from the Spanish saying "a trancas y barrancas", translating to "in fits and starts".
The pair's popularity spawned merchandise including MP3 players, clothing and the famous soft toys. In 2012, a more obnoxious ant named Petancas was introduced, however she was not quite as popular as the original duo.
