In 2004, United Overseas Bank of Singapore acquired Bank Buana Indonesia, before fully acquired it from International Finance Corporation in 2005. On 9 March 2007, Bank Buana Indonesia was officially renamed UOB Buana, and was delisted from Indonesia Stock Exchange on 20 November 2008.

Following its merger of the original UOB Indonesia with UOB Buana in 2010, UOB Buana was renamed UOB Indonesia.
2015–2022[]
2022–present[]
As part of UOB's ASEAN goal, a rebranding took place, giving UOB divisions a UOB logo with a brighter color palette and an updated seal.
On 18 November 2023, UOB Indonesia officially took over the consumer banking division of Citibank.
