The USL Pro was created after the United Soccer Leagues' First and Second Divisions merged before the 2011 season.

On February 10, 2015, USL Pro rebranded to the United Soccer League.
USL Championship[]
2018–present[]
On September 25, 2018, the United Soccer League announced a major brand overhaul, having their leagues unified under the USL branding. As a result of the overhaul, the USL changed its name to the USL Championship.
