After mainline Ubuntu team announced that Ubuntu would move from Unity to the GNOME 3 desktop starting from version 18.04, a group of developers started developing Ubuntu Unity. The first version of Ubuntu Unity was released on 7th May 2020, with this logo.

Versions 21.10 Impish Indri–present[]

Alongside Ubuntu Unity Impish Indri (21.10) the graphical part in a circle was slighty simplified. Ubuntu Unity became a recognized flavor starting with the 22.10 release.
