Headquartered in Milan, UniCredit S.p.A. is the largest bank in Italy and one of the largest banking groups in Europe. It was formed in 1998 through the merger of UniCredito and Credito Italiano.

In 2003, the brand had "changed" its name back to UniCredito, although with a capital "C". However, the brand itself was still referred to as UniCredito Italiano until a few months later.
