United Film & Television is a defunct film and television subsidiary of United News & Media established in 1991, after acquiring MAI, owners of Meridian Broadcasting and Anglia Television. It later acquired HTV, the franchise for Wales and the West. In 2000, most of the assets were sold to Granada plc, with the exception of HTV, which was sold to Carlton Communications.
