The Celtic League was founded in 2001, featuring rugby union clubs from Scotland, Wales and Southern and Northern Ireland.
Magners League[]
2006–2011[]
Magners became title sponsors of the Celtic League in 2006. In 2010-11, Italian teams joined for the first time.
RaboDirect Pro12[]
2011–2014[]
In 2011, it was announced that Rabobank had bought the sponsorship, using their RaboDirect brand as a title sponsor. The Pro12 name represented the number of teams in the league.
Guinness Pro12[]
2014–2017[]
Guinness became the new sponsors of the Pro12 on 10 July 2014.

Guinness Pro14[]
2017–2021[]
The 2017 addition of two South African teams (Cheetahs and Southern Kings) brought the club count up to 14, and the competition was renamed accordingly.
