Founder of Logopedia

As of November 17th, 2016, I have retired from Logopedia and therefore have removed my administrator and bureaucrat abilities. It's been a great run here on Logopedia, and I am proud to be the founder of what is now one of the largest Wikias out there. If you are reading this, thank you for all you have done, you are what makes Logopedia great.

Hello! I'm Alxeedo111, or Alex, the founder of Logopedia! I was a bureaucrat and administrator here for over 7 years.

I was inspired to create Logopedia after I felt like I wanted to do something with my love for logos. With previous experience in administrating other Wikias, I decided founding an encyclopedia of logos was what I needed to do. I had no clue where it was going, but it turned out to be one of the best decisions I've made. Of course, Logopedia's success is all in thanks to the administrative team and our editors. The name "Logopedia" is a portmanteau of the words Logo and encyclopedia, as you probably guessed. Logopedia was created in 2009, and began as a small, quite barren wiki. But with the help of many users, Logopedia expanded, eventually becoming the #1 Most Active Lifestyle Wikia (or at least as of July 5, 2016) :). I am confident that with such a great team of administrators and editors, Logopedia will continue to grow and be one of the primary online resources for learning about logos and branding.

Ever wonder about Logopedia's logo? Believe it or not, our logo has changed quite a bit since 2009, when the wiki was created. We've actually created a page about ourselves. :) When you see it, you'll probably wonder why Logopedia's first logo was what it was. Well, I had an interest in sports logos at the time. Combine that with terrible image editing skills and voila! Logopedia's first logo was born. Luckily, as the wiki evolved, administrators with better taste desired to go for a more modern, sleeker look. That's how the Helvetica wordmark you see today was born. Here is the article if you would like to learn more about Logopedia's logo history.
