At the beginning of January 2022, Disney announced the closure of Star Life in Latin America on March 31, in addition to the shutdown of several other linear television channels that it owns in the region, as a consequence of the conglomerate focusing more on its Disney+ and Star+ platforms. In Brazil, however, Star Life was replaced with a local version of Cinecanal.
