Channel 5 only offered a disconnection to broadcast the matches of the Caracas Lions of Venezuelan professional baseball. Caldera ceded channel 5 to the Venezuelan Catholic Church shortly before Hugo Chávez had been elected president, being renamed Vale TV. Due to the inexperience of the church in the television world, it decided that the channel would be administered by the Organización Cisneros of the businessman Gustavo Cisneros. In December 2005 the state announced the revocation of the church's use.
