It appeared for the first time in the UK and Germany in Spring 1995 and the version airing in the UK was subsequently distributed across the whole of Europe as VH1 Export from June 1999. However, its current pan-European feed was officially launched in 2001 by merging VH1 Export and VH1 Germany, hence becoming a separate service from the UK-aimed VH1 channel.

On October 7, 2020, VH1 received a change to the old logo, on the screen and in promos the logo is black in a white rectangle. This logo is also used on VH1 Italy from 2018. At the same time, a HD simulcast was launched, initially only in Latin America, replacing the localised feed there.

MTV 00s[]

2021–present[]

MTV 00s remaster

It was announced on May 14, 2021 that VH1 Europe will be replaced by MTV 00s on August 2, 2021.[1] On April 28, 2022, this channel was closed down in Russia.[2]
