Journaal, known as Het Journaal (The Journal) until 2021, is the daily TV newscast of VRT, the Belgian Dutch public broadcaster. It operates under the VRT NWS brand and airs every day on the flagship Eén channel.
Its sole competitor is VTM Nieuws, the newscast on the commercial channel VTM.

2013–2016[]
2016–2018[]
A new set design, graphics package and theme music scheme were introduced on 15 February 2016. The widespread Proxima Nova font was the on-screen typeface. Since 2 September 2019 it is used by Eén, the broadcaster’s flagship channel.
2018–2021[]
A minor rebrand took place on 28 May 2018. The theme music is unchanged, as are most of the title sequences, but the font has been changed to Forma DJR, VRT’s new corporate font since 2017. This is in order to show tighter integration with the new VRT NWS brand. The blue colour used in the previous version of the graphics is now complemented by the light green used in VRT’s corporate identity, instead of yellow.

2021–2022[]
A new logo and sound design were introduced on 5 April 2021 to coincide with the move to a new studio. The on-screen name was changed from Het Journaal to simply Journaal.
