2006–present
On December 31, 2005, the original Viacom split into two companies: the present-day Viacom and CBS Corporation. The split was conducted with the original Viacom spinning off its cable networks and its film subsidiary Paramount Pictures to the new company and renaming itself as CBS Corporation.
