Vikna was launched in 1994 as a weekly newscast.

1995–1996

In 1995 Vikna was launched now as national newscasts with Internation Media Center and Internews and was broadcast on UT-2.

On May 20th, 2019, STB introduces a virtual decoration in Fakty ICTV's studio.

The new logo with a new virtual studio was started on August 23, 2021. The his own website will be started on Autumn 2021. The intro is a generic ident of STB and elements of the redesign. Like the German newscast RTL Aktuell, Vikna does not have an intro title screen. The name ‘Vikna’ appears directly on the screen behind the presenter. During editions on 17:30 and 22:00, after headlines, the intro also has an intro title screen.
