Virgin Media and O2 merged on 1 June 2021 creating Virgin Media O2. It is a 50/50 joint venture between Telefonica and Liberty Global. However, the Virgin Media and O2 branding is still traded as subsidiaries.

It is one of the largest entertainment and telecommunications operators in the United Kingdom, with around 47 million customers in 2021.
