Virgin Media One, known until 30 August 2018 as TV3 (and until 2006 as TV Three), is the main free-to-air commercial television station in Ireland and one of its most-watched channels.
Unlike most European countries, which have two or more terrestrial commercial TV broadcasters, Virgin Media Television (formerly the TV3 Group) is Ireland's only free-to-air commercial TV network. Its main English-language competition is the public broadcaster RTÉ and pay platforms like Sky.
On August 30th, 2018, 3 years after acquiring the TV3 Group, Virgin Media Ireland rebranded TV3, 3e, be3 and 3player to Virgin Media Television. TV3 became Virgin Media One.
