Vitalite is best known for its adverts which were shown from 1988 until 1994, which featured dancing sunflowers and a singing sun, with a parody of the song Israelites by Desmond Dekker.

Vitalite's owner, St Ivel was bought by Dairy Crest (now Saputo Dairy UK) in 2002, and a year later, it was relaunched as a dairy-free spread.
