Supercanal was the first pay TV provider in Brazil using MMDS, with a single channel named Canal+ (which was licensed by the original French company) which retransmitted ESPN International. In 1990, the service expanded to 4 channels, these being ESPN International, a signal from RAI, CNN International and a music channel called TVM.

2012–2021[]
In 2007, Grupo Abril sold 49% of its shares of TVA to Telefónica, with the remainder being bought in 2012. After the sale, TVA was renamed to Vivo TV.
Vivo Play[]
2021–2023[]
On September 19th, 2021, Vivo renamed its TV service to Vivo Play, in line with its VOD service and companion app.
