Vodafoneis a telecom company and mobile network operator in Ukraine originally launched as Ukrainian Mobile Communications (UMC) on July 1st, 1993. While not owned by the Vodafone Group, the Vodafone brand was licensed by MTS, a Russian telecom company that operated using its own brand until 2018, when it was phased out in favour of the Vodafone brand (used in Ukraine since 2015). MTS its operations in Ukraine to NEQSOL Holding through Bakcell, an Azerbaijani telecom company, in November 2019.
