In 1999, the league's then-sponsor PTT changed its name in KPN, hence changing the championship name to KPN Telecompetitie.

Eredivisie introduced a new visual identity during the last match day of the 2016-2017 season, by combining the E and an abstraction of the centre circle of the playing field.
2025–present[]

At the beginning of the 2025/2026 season, the Eredivisie underwent a rebrand, introducing a new name and logo as part of a sponsorship agreement with the VriendenLoterij.
