W*A*L*T*E*R was a pilot episode for a proposed M*A*S*H spin-off starring Gary Burghoff as Walter O'Reilly. It aired on 17 July 1984 as a "CBS Special Presentation" after CBS passed on the series. It was shown only once in the Eastern and Central timezones of the United States.
