1987–1992

WXGZ filed for bankruptcy and signed off in 1992. The Fox affiliation would move to then-independent station WGBA-TV (now an NBC affiliate) that same year.

WACY-TV

1994–1995

In 1994, channel 32 returned to the air as WACY-TV, after its license was purchased by Ace TV; the station used the Ace of Spades for the first time as the station's logo, which would be carried over into the 1995-2002 UPN-era logo.

1995–2001

In August 1995, after WGBA-TV (channel 26) affiliated with NBC following WLUK-TV (channel 11)'s switch from NBC to Fox, WACY acquired most of WGBA's children's programs and decided to adopt an all-day children's programming format under the branding "Wacky 32"; this format lasted until 1999.
