In September 1996, WBRC affiliated with Fox, after being purchased by the network, taking the affiliation from then-affiliates WTTO/WDBB/WNAL; the station's former ABC affiliation moved to WBMA-LP/WCFT/WJSU.
This "6" logo is similar to the one used by ABC affiliate WRTV in Indianapolis, and CBS affiliate WCPX-TV (now WKMG-TV) in Orlando, Florida.
2024–present[]
On August 18, 2024, in honor of the station's 75th anniversary and concurrent with its rollout of owner Gray Television's "GrayONE" standardized graphics package, WBRC modified its logo to reintroduce the 1981–1998 "6" logo, while retaining the 2015 "WBRC" neon-style wordmark.
Per a 2023 localized branding initiative by Gray, the station also removed most Fox network references from its news branding (with the exception of the logo bug included with the GrayONE package), but otherwise kept them for general promotion, making it among only a handful of Fox stations that the network has granted exceptions to its station branding requirements.
