WCPO-TV first signed on the air on July 26, 1949, as a primary ABC affiliate and a secondary DuMont affiliate on VHF channel 7, it was the third television station that was built and signed-on by The E. W. Scripps Company (the first was WEWS-TV in Cleveland, Ohio in 1947 and the second was WMCT (now WMC-TV) in Memphis, Tennessee in 1948).

Used after the switch from CBS back to ABC on June 3, 1996 (CBS went back to WKRC-TV). The Futura "9" in this logo has been used by the station since, with minor design changes along the way.
