At midnight on October 16, 2017, Florida West Coast Public Broadcasting, the owners of WEDU, took over WUSF-TV's broadcast license from its' owners, the University of South Florida. The call letters were changed to WEDQ, with a logo that matches that of WEDU.
it has replaced WEDU+ (WEDU-DT4) on January 24, 2018.
