WGBH's most famous logo, consisting of the company name with a double drop shadow on both sides of it, was designed by Chermayeff & Geismar. This logo's first on-air appearance occurred on March 3, 1974 during the end credits of the series premiere of Nova. A network ID was produced in 1977 by Chris Pullman. Despite being replaced by the 2020 logo (below), this logo is still currently used today alongside that logo, and for on-screen variants as well until October 1st, 2020.

USAGE Official
On September 1, 2020, WGBH rebranded its on-air identity as "GBH", using a modified version of its iconic 1974 logo, removing the "W" and using the Sharp Sans font. The rebrand was designed by Minelli Inc. and reflects the station's prominence beyond radio and television.
