WGBH's now famous current logo, consisting of the company name with a double drop shadow on both sides of it, was designed by Chermayeff & Geismar and first appeared on March 3, 1974 in the end credits of the series premiere of Nova. A network ID was produced in 1977 by Chris Pullman.
