TVT-6 Hobart began transmission on 23 May 1960. Translator stations were later setup at Maydena, Queenstown/Zeehan, Strathgordon, Swansea/Bicheno, and Taroona on VHF-8, and at Rosebery on VHF-10. The callsign stood for TeleVision Tasmania.

In 1982, TVT-6 was bought out by ENT, owner of Launceston station TNT-9.

This logo was used for news bulletins until 1975, with the number 6 being surrounded by a ring, similar to the Seven Network's 1969 logo.

1981–1985[]

This logo was used for news bulletins and news gathering vehicles. It is similar to the Nine Network's variant used between 1977 and 1988.

TasTV/TasTV South[]

In 1985, both stations began broadcasting under the unified on-air identity TasTV. In 1989, TNT-9 was sold to Tricom Corporation (predecessor to what is now Southern Cross Austereo), leaving TVT-6 to continue servicing the south as TasTV. On 30 April 1994, relay stations opened in Launceston on UHF-35, South Launceston, St. Mary's, and Ulverstone on UHF-62, St. Helens on UHF-40, Strahan and Waratah on UHF-63, Burnie on UHF-47, East Devonport on UHF-60, Lileah on UHF-50, Penguin on UHF-43, Smithton on UHF-35, and Wynard on UHF-42.

In October 1994, ENT was bought out by WIN Corporation and thus TasTV was rebranded WIN Tasmania.
