WKAQ-TV (channel 2, famously known as Telemundo) is a television station based in San Juan, Puerto Rico, carrying Telemundo and owned by NBCUniversal's Owned Television Stations division. The channel airs Telemundo's programs alongside several local programs and foreign programs not seen on the American Telemundo channel.

1954–1968[]

WKAQ ID 2

The station signed-on for the first time on March 28, 1954, which was assigned after its AM station by Ángel Ramos, owner of the Puerto Rican newspaper, El Mundo (as shown this ID above, the world). Since then, Puerto Rico's first television station has been branded as Telemundo.

1968–1976[]

With the arrival of color in 1968, it showed the number two with a multicolored globe written in the station's call letters.

1976–1992[]

WKAQ 1980s

In 1976, the famous Two Fingers logo was introduced, placed as the negative space within the "2" numeral. In 1983, Ramos sold the station to John Blair & Co. In 1986, the station was purchased by Reliance Group Holdings, integrating channel 2 into the NetSpan network (now known as Telemundo).

1992–1993[]

In 1992 the Two Fingers logo was altered.

1993–1997[]

WKAQ-TV Canal 2 (1993)

In 1993 after Telemundo rebranded, the Two Fingers logo was changed to accommodate the branding.

1997–2001[]

Telemundo 1997

In 1997, Telemundo changed their logo, and because of this, WKAQ had to retire its Two Fingers logo after 21 years. WKAQ kept the network's 1997 logo until 2001.

2001–2012[]

Telemundo 2000

During this logo's run WKAQ, as well as the rest of the Telemundo network was bought out by NBC in 2002.

Telemundo Puerto Rico (2012-Dec)

On January 1, 2014, the station launched a simulcast of sister network NBC, via WNBC from New York marking it the first time NBC programming can been seen over-the-air on the island 23 years after WSJV-TV (channel 18, now a Mega TV owned-station) dropped the network in 1991.

In 2015, the Two Fingers logo returned.
